Times for Pichai as regulators, employees seek answers.

In an impetus to the Indian-origin talent in Silicon Valley dominated by the likes of Adobe’s Shantanu Narayen, Microsoft’s Satya Nadella and Mastercard’s CEO Ajay Banga, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, who has now taken over as parent firm Alphabet’s CEO is excited about Alphabet’s long-term focus on tackling big challenges through tech.

However, the Pichai faces intense challenges ahead as Google stares at several probes to its marketplace and information practices including tensions with staff over discrimination.

EU antitrust regulators have established anti-trust probe to the data collection practices of Google .

The US Department of Justice is also probing to get anti-trust violations in Google.

In problem for Google, 50 US Attorneys General probing its anti-trust market practices have opted to expand the investigation into the tech giant’s Android and Search companies. Google is also under an anti-trust probe over a brand new Internet Protocol that may give an unfair competitive edge to the tech giant.

The tech giant will pay almost one billion euros to France to shut a financial dispute. The payment of this fine will put an end to some four-year probe.

On the front, Google is in the middle of controversy over its strained relationship with workers. The technology giant has been accused of”union busting” and retaliatory behavior after it sacked four workers for allegedly violating the company’s data protection policies. Google employees are demanding that they must be immediately met by parent business Alphabet and address their issues, after staging a global walkout and sit-in protest against workplace harassment.

Last November, nearly 20,000 Google workers across the globe walked out following the company of sexual harassment allegations. Google workers also have called for a transparent, open evaluation of HR and its own”abysmal handling of employee complaints associated with working conditions, discrimination, harassment and retaliation”.

“Google’s HR department is broken. Over and over again it prioritises abusers and harassers’ reputation and the organization . The collateral damage is around us. Time is up. We need third party investigators. Even Uber did so,” the group wrote in a recent article on Moderate.

A Google spokesperson called a previous statement, stating:”We prohibit retaliation at work and publicly share our very clear policy.” “To make sure that no criticism goes at Google, we provide employees multiple stations to report issues, including anonymously, and investigate all allegations of retaliation.”

Office surveillance’s giant has charged, saying they are being watched via a browser extension in Calendar app. Moving Pichai are the CEO of both Alphabet and Google. He will be the executive responsible and accountable for top Google, and handling Alphabet’s investment in its own portfolio of”Other Bets”.

Pichai who joined Google more than 15 years ago faces the heat just like Facebook’s Mark Zuckerberg over information practices and today with the advertising, more eyes will scrutinise his organization and unfortunately, he won’t possess founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin standing alongside him .
